The mission of the project is to improve the health status of the rural and urban poor through the promotion of the preservation and sustainable use of wild plants at the national and regional levels using culturally appropriate and sustainable practices to reverse unhealthy reliance on refined grains especially among the urban and rural poor and investigation of policy options to improve dietary diversity with governments, non governmental organizations, community based organizations which incorporate wild edible plants in the diet.
